How do mold spores spread?

Air movement is the primary means for mold spores to spread.

The fuzzy looking tops of mold are really thousands of spores getting ready to take off. The sporulation is similar to that of a Dandelion, just on a much small scale. Once the wind blows the spores will fly off into the air creating many little colonies of the organism.

When a building has been contaminated by mold it is important to keep the rest of the building clear. To accomplish this all the contents must be washed, disinfected and removed. A containment should then be set up before the remediation begins to keep mold spores from spreading.
